What is the lowest profile tire for a 22'' wheel that i would be comfortable with on a 2000 suburban, i thinking 285's would be nice, but what would 265's be like ? weight issues and then what about potholes ?

A 255/30-22 is the lowest tire. We would not reccomend anything smaller than a 285/30-22.

so a 285 is good, lets say if i decided to go with a 23'' wheel. Would a 285 still be alright, or would i need a 305 ? i

The smallest tire in 23" available is the Nitto 295/30-23. Pot holes are going to be an issue with any low profile tire.
